ABOUT PIMI
PIMI was founded with the mission to enhance visibility and connection of LGBTQIA+ and ally members of WMIS and to develop a distinct support structure that enhances the scientific, professional and social experiences of this community to allow our members to thrive. Our members are active members of
the WMIS community who passionately advocate for inclusivity to advance biomedical science and
professional development. PIMI is dedicated to the creation of supportive and safe spaces within WMIS where LGBTQIA+ and ally researchers can connect, share experiences, and provide mutual support within
the molecular imaging community. We aim to provide a forum for meaningful discussions amongst
members of the group that address the unique, entrenched challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals in
the scientific community and, in doing so, cultivate a more diverse, supportive and equitable scientific
community in WMIS.
