This section will focus on the topic of Theranostics – combining diagnostic imaging and therapeutic abilities – an area of research that has seen a dramatic growth in recent years. When nanoparticles or other small molecules possess capabilities for specific diagnostic imaging, and effective treatment, combined in a single agent, they are referred to as theranostic tools.
