Call for Abstracts: WMIC 2014 “Propelling Discoveries with Molecular Imaging”

February 18, 2014

On behalf of the World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC) Scientific Program Committee, you are invited to submit an abstract for presentation or publication at the WMIC 2014, September 17 – 20 in Seoul, Korea.

“This year’s theme, ‘Propelling Discoveries with Molecular Imaging’, emphasizes the global trend and need to incorporate molecular imaging in research and medicine to discover new targets and agents, visualize and learn about disease, and to build a bridge to optimal patient outcomes and cures,” said Marty Pagel Ph.D., Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering, University of Arizona and 2014 WMIC Program Chair.

Our program will focus on five Emphases: Chemistry & Imaging Probes, First-in-Human & Clinical Studies, Preclinical Cell & Tissue Level Studies, Preclinical in vivo Studies and Technology & Software Developments. These five will then be divided into multiple categories providing a focused full spectrum program.

The World Molecular Imaging Congress proudly recognizes the outstanding commitment to research and endeavor of the next generation of researchers. To honor distinction in their work, the WMIC will sponsor a Young Investigator Award competition. One finalist will be awarded $2,000 USD and will be given the recognition of presenting their talk during the Closing Ceremony. Two runners-up will be awarded $500 USD each.

The World Molecular Imaging Congress is organized through the joint efforts of the World Molecular Imaging Society (WMIS), the European Society for Molecular Imaging (ESMI), and the Federation of Asian Societies for Molecular Imaging (FASMI). WMIC provides a unique platform for physicians, scientists and health care providers to present the latest and most exciting discoveries that set the global standards in molecular imaging.

The abstract submission deadline is Tuesday, April 1, 2014.

ABOUT WORLD MOLECULAR IMAGING SOCIETY
The WMIS is dedicated to developing and promoting translational research through multimodal molecular imaging. The education and abstract-driven WMIC annual meeting is held in conjunction with European Society for Molecular Imaging (ESMI) and Federation of Asian Societies for Molecular Imaging (FASMI). WMIC provides a unique platform for scientists and clinicians with very diverse backgrounds to interact, present, and follow cutting-edge advances in molecular imaging. Industry exhibits at the congress include the latest advances in preclinical and clinical imaging applications creating a complete molecular imaging educational technology showcase.
