WMIS Mentoring Program for Postdoctoral Fellows
The World Molecular Imaging Society (WMIS) launched a mentoring initiative in 2021 to support and elevate postdoctoral researchers. We believe that fostering a broad range of perspectives is essential for scientific creativity, innovation, and meaningful progress in addressing healthcare challenges.
This program aims to cultivate a new generation of leaders in molecular imaging who will help ensure a vibrant and inclusive scientific community.
Eligibility
- This opportunity is open to WMIS members who are currently in a Postdoctoral Program.
- Eligible applicants must hold a doctoral degree by the program start date, conferred within the past five years.
- Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence and strong potential for leadership and success in their fields, as evidenced by scholarly achievements and professional references. While a focus on molecular imaging is encouraged, it is not required.
Program Benefits
Selected awardees will receive:
- One-on-one career development mentoring from established leaders in molecular imaging.
- A personalized abstract writing and presentation workshop in preparation for WMIC.
- Opportunities to engage in WMIS trainee leadership and career development activities.
- A waived registration fee for the 2025 World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC).
- Invitation to a trainee-focused networking reception at WMIC 2025 in Anchorage, AK.
Participant Expectations
Selected postdoctoral fellows will be expected to:
- Attend monthly virtual meetings with program mentors and peers.
- Submit abstract(s) to the 2025 WMIC and attend the conference.
- Participate in scheduled meetings with academic and industry mentors.
- Offer feedback to help refine and strengthen the program.
