The Faculty of Medicine at the University in Tübingen, Germany, invites applications for a position in the Department of Preclinical Imaging and Radiopharmacy as
Professor (W2) of Functional and Metabolic Brain Imaging (endowed by the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung)
(available immediately).
According to § 50 (2) Nr. 5 LHG, the position is available for the support of talented young researchers for a period of up to 6 years. Employment is on a non-tenured basis as salaried employee.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
– Outstanding research skills in imaging science with a focus on preclinical and translational multiparametric positron emission tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRT)
– Experience in data acquisition and analysis of brain metabolism and brain function
using multiparametric imaging
– Track record of publications in high-impact international journals and independently
acquired research funding
– Experience and strong motivation in academic teaching
The professorship intends to promote our major research activities in the fields of imaging, neuroscience, medical engineering and medical physics at the Medical Faculty, University of Tübingen. In addition, the candidate is expected to participate actively in the faculty’s teaching program.
Candidates for the position should possess a university degree and a PhD dissertation in natural sciences or in medicine and provide documents confirming teaching ability and experience.
